
The Network of Excellence APARSEN (Alliance Permanent Access to the Records of Science in Europe Network) has been officially launched the 1st January 2011. The project aims to integrate the majority of the research activities in Europe on Digital Preservation within a common vision and common terminology, organising events, coordinating other initiatives on the same topic, promoting a common study curricula plan, offering concrete services and solutions. The focus is in particular on trusted digital repositories, authentication of resources, persistent identifiers, multimodal data management. Special attention is devoted to training plans and material. FRD leads the challenging WP "Identifiers and citability".
This NoE brings together an extremely diverse set of practitioner organisations and researchers in order to bring coherence, cohesion and continuity to research on long-term accessibility and usability of digital information and data. The project will provide:
